Basic frame types and face shapes

Having spent a little too much time browsing the available frames at Goggles4U, EyeBuyDirect.com, and 39DollarGlasses.com, it has become apparent that there are only a few basic shapes of glasses:

From upper left to lower right: oval, round, square, butterfly, and angular. You’ll find some variations on these shapes, but the basic premise stands.

And there are four basic face-shapes (see post #32, “Your face shape matters” ): square, round, oval, and angular (a.k.a. triangle or heart-shaped).

Here is a basic table to help you pick out the right type of frame for your face.
